The perfect title page for your thesis
A well-designed title page is the first impression of your thesis. Here you'll learn how to do it right.
Why is the title page so important?
The title page is the cover of your thesis. It contains not only the most important information, but is also the first impression your work makes. Remember: There is no second chance for a good first impression!
What belongs on the title page?
- Type of work (Bachelor's thesis, Master's thesis, etc.)
- Title and subtitle of the work
- Name and logo of the university
- Your name, matriculation number and contact details
- Name of the supervisor and the second reviewer
- Department/Course of study and submission date
Tips for a successful title page
- Use a high-resolution logo (at least 200 dpi)
- Limit yourself to a maximum of two fonts
- Structure the information into three sections
To avoid
- Page numbers (only from the introduction onwards)
- Busy graphics or bright colors
- More than two different fonts
- Spelling mistakes (especially embarrassing on the title page!)
